GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. (WKBW) — If you plan on traveling from Buffalo to Niagara Falls Sunday, think about taking an alternative route.

The Northbound South Grand Island Bridge will be closed to traffic from midnight until 1:00 p.m. to accommodate the filming of 'A Quiet Place II.'

Thruway officials made the announcement Monday. It's unclear whether the filming will take place on the bridge.

Exit 17 entrance ramp from River Road to I-190 north will also be closed. Officials say motorists traveling on Grand Island in both direction should expect 'severe' delays after 9:00 a.m. Sunday.

Hollywood star John Kransinski is directing the sequel to 'A Quiet Place.' The film is expected to hire 400 people in the area and invest more than $10 million in the regional economy, according to Thruway officials.
