TULSA, OK (WKBW) — The University at Buffalo men's basketball team was cheered to victory in front of thousands of their fans, a majority of whom have no connection to Buffalo at all.

"Tulsa is an underdog city" Paul Hall, who lives in Tulsa, said, "University of Tulsa is an underdog team. So Tulsa roots for underdogs."

That type of backing is something that UB fans are grateful for.

"They’re just the nature of Buffalo being underdogs. Blue collar, it appeals to America" Jason Lang, a Buffalo native who flew his family of four down to Tulsa, said.

After the Bulls beat Arizona State by 17 points, fans are feeling good about their next match up against the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Sunday.

"If they play like this they could run to the sweet sixteen or the elite eight" Lang said.
