So long straws! Canada zeroes in on single-use plastics

OTTAWA, CA (WKBW) — So long straws, sayonara stir sticks, the Canadian government wants to make these single-use plastics things of the past.

According to CTV News, plastic grocery bags, straws, stir sticks, six pack rings, cutlery and food containers made from hard-to-recycle plastics will be banned nationwide in Canada by the end of 2021.

The move is part of Canada's plan to eliminate all plastic waste by 2030.
