BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Here's your heads up WNY! Big changes are brewing in the extended forecast as cold air prepares to charge out of Canada.

The good news is we have plenty of time before it arrives, but the bad news is the arrival time might haunt Halloween. BOO! Yes, we're talking about snow.

Temperatures will warm in advance of the cold crush with rain showers, then when the temperature tumbles the drops will change to flakes close to Trick or Treating. The exact time of the cold core arrival will dictate when the flakes fly and being a week away there's plenty of wiggle room to the exact hour for the wintry switch.

The 7 First Alert Weather Team will be watching all aspects of this advancing weather system and are letting you know this well in advance not to scare, but to help you prepare for what is on the way. In the meantime, it would be a good time to bookmark our full weather page and have 7 Super Doppler at your fingertips here.
