TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WKBW) — The first ever "Smiles for Seth" event was held Saturday in memory of an 8-year-old boy who died in an October 2018 house fire and to bring awareness to fire safety.
Know your way out and have an escape plan, that's the message the parents of eight-year-old Seth Creenan who died in a Tonawanda house fire last year are trying to spread.
The event was held at Glendale Elementary School, firefighters on hand taught kids how to call 911 and stay low around smoke.
The Red Cross was also there teaching families about properly maintaining smoke detectors.
