BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Buffalo Police say a woman is dead and two others are seriously injured after a head-on collision on the Skyway.

It happened at about 11:30 p.m. Thursday at the top of the inbound stretch of the Skyway. Investigators say one vehicle was driving at high speeds in the wrong direction and caused the crash.

There were a total of three people involved. The passenger of the striking vehicle, 28-year-old Shabrina Grant of Buffalo, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the striking vehicle, a 27-year-old Lackawanna man, and the driver of the vehicle that was hit, a 46-year-old Buffalo woman, both remain at ECMC.

The Skyway was closed in both directions for about five hours before reopening on Friday morning.
