HAMBURG, N.Y. (WKBW) — Shop owners in the village of Hamburg say they’ve been feeling the Buffalove this holiday season.
“We appreciate it so much and we’re so lucky to have such supportive, awesome communities in Buffalo,” owner of T. Boutique in Hamburg Taylor Balbierz said.
Throughout the holiday season, Balbierz said many of her customers have told her their holiday shopping this year has been completely local.
“Which we love hearing,” she said.
“For Christmas it's just the right thing to do to take care of your community," a holiday shopper in Hamburg said. "They take care of us all year and it’s the right thing to give back.”
Linda Dersam says the decision to shop 100% local this year was easy.
“I got to walk my dog and it puts you in the holiday spirit,” she said.
Plus, she got to help out businesses like What a Woman Wants in Hamburg.
“I’ve had this conversation a dozen times a day," the owner of What a Woman Wants Laura Hackathorn said. "Everybody wants to support local.”
And she’s hoping that even when the pandemic is over, the Buffalove remains.
“I hope this feeling continues on to really shop local and support local families. It’s not just local businesses it local families, and when you put it in that context it makes it more personal.”
to everyone who decided to shop local this holiday season, these two store owners say thank you.
“Buffalo in a whole has been so supportive and we’re so thankful for every single customer," Balbierz said.
