Sheriff's office warns of increased number of burglaries in Bemus Point

BEMUS POINT, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office has issued a warning to residents after an increased number of burglaries have been reported.

The sheriff's office says the burglaries have occurred in the area of Lakeside Drive, Brown Road, and S. Frontage Road in Bemus Point. They have occurred from March to May and at all hours of the day.

The suspects have been using forced entry through rear doors and looking for power tools, according to officials. Neighbors have reported a suspicious black Chevy Tahoe with Pennsylvania license plates driving slowly through the area several times.
