Shamrock Run set to return March 5 for 44th annual run

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Shamrock Run will make its return on March 5 for its 44th year.

The run took place in 2020 but was canceled in 2021 due to COVID-19, it is set to take place at noon on March 5.

There will be an in-person and virtual run, you can find more information here.

The City of Buffalo says many road closures will be in place for the event.

Officials say Seneca Street and South Park Avenue will be closed between Michigan and Van Rensselaer streets, as well as all intersections in the area.

More street and intersection closures include:

  • Michigan Street - between Ohio and Seneca streets
  • Louisiana Street - between South and Seneca streets
  • Hamburg Street - from South Park Avenue to South Street
  • St. Clair Street – between South and Ohio streets
  • Ohio Street - between Louisiana and Michigan streets

Streets are set to be reopened after runners and walkers are finished, except for Louisiana Street, between South Park Avenue and South Street, which will reopen after post-race festivities wrap up.
