SALAMANCA, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Seneca Nation and the New York State Thruway Authority have been in communication about potential repairs on the stretch of the I-90 that runs through the Seneca Nation.

Sunday the New York State Thruway Authority sent a letter to the Seneca Nation stating "the moment you grant us permission, we will make the necessary repairs."

The Seneca Nation responded to the letter Monday, asking the thruway authority for a copy of planned repairs with a detailed timeline and attempted to arrange a meeting.

Wednesday, the thruway authority responded to the nation's requests, including the plan and timeline.

The Governor's Office says the Seneca Nation received the plan/timeline and are currently reviewing it.

The Seneca Nation released this statement Friday:

The Nation and the Thruway Authority have been in communication over the past few days regarding potential repairs to the portion of Thruway that crosses the Cattaraugus Territory. We believe the communication has been positive, and the lines of communication remain open.
