Search underway for man who went over Niagara Falls

NIAGARA FALLS, ON — A search is underway for a man that went over Niagara Falls Sunday morning.

According to a spokesperson at the U.S. Coast Guard Station in Buffalo, Niagara Parks Police in Canada reported an elderly male in a black jacket entered the river around 10:50 a.m. Sunday and then went over the Falls on the Canadian side.

He was then observed unresponsive at the base of the Falls, Parks Police lost sight of him once he was seen at the base.

Parks Police sent individuals down to search for the male, but requested no assistance.

The U.S. Coast Guard Station in Buffalo has received no update on the situation and no further information is available at this time.
