BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Buffalo Police are warning you about a new phone scam. Police say someone is calling local numbers using a police district phone number, and pretending to be a Buffalo police officer. That person then tells you to buy gift cards to avoid being charged with a crime.
Police say if you get this call, you should hang up immediately and call 911 to report it.
