Sam Sam, the dog who was rescued by North Tonawanda Police earlier this month will be headed to a new "fur-ever" home.

The North Tonawanda Dog Control Officer says they have found the "perfect fit" for her.

On Wednesday, it was announced that she has been adopted by a local couple named John and Maureen and they have renamed her Sophie.

She continues to make progress and now weighs over 30 pounds.

Her previous owners, Joseph Barwick and Dorthy Adama face animal cruelty charges and will be in court May 30th.
