ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WKBW) — Both runways at the Greater Rochester International airport are temporarily closed this Friday morning.

According to the airport's director, a private 737 DHL cargo plan operated by affiliate Kalitta Air went off the runway as it was preparing for takeoff. This was not a commercial passenger aircraft. There were two pilots on board, neither were hurt.

Airport Operations is now in the process of addressing the situation to move the aircraft and reopen the airfield as soon as possible.

Passengers flying into and out of ROC over the next few hours should check with their airline on flight status.
