MACEDON, N.Y. (WKBW) — A man from the Rochester area is recovering a bizarre home invasion.

Levi Thompson, 21, of Macedon suffered head injuries after confronting a home invader who got into the house through a doggy door, ABC affilliate WHAM reports.

Thompson told WHAM that he knew the suspect, Cooper Herrmann, 19. He even said he once considered him a friend.

Thompson said he and Herrmann began to fight after Herrmann pulled out a knife and put it tight to his neck. At one point, Thompson said he was stuck over the head three times with a plant stand.

Herrmann then left through the doggy door. Police caught him at an unrelated traffic stop. His arrest was first reported by the Times of Wayne County.
