GERRY, N.Y. (WKBW) — Three Gerry residents have been arrested for endangering the welfare of a child.

The arrests of Nikki Coulson, 32, Jacob Atwell, 24, and Benjamin Frost, 37, came after a trooper responded to a home for a report of a child hanging out of a second story window. The trooper made contact with the child, whose age was not disclosed. The child told the trooper he was only leaning out the window to look at a bird.

But walking inside the home, the trooper found deplorable conditions. The child he spoke with and other children were turned over to a relative. There's no word how many total children were found in the home, nor whose relative the children were turned over to.

Child Protective Services will be investigating.

The trio was released from custody after being processed at the Jamestown barracks. They're due back in town of Gerry court in September.

Atwell and Coulson were also arrested earlier this year for a nearly identical incident. Back in may, troopers checked the welfare of a toddler on Route 60, resulting in the discovery of children living in squalor.
