BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Five puppies are now in Western New York after volunteers brought them from Puerto Rico to a rescue group in the U.S. over the weekend.

The puppies were brought to Buffalo on a Jet Blue flight Sunday and given to volunteers with the rescue group Making a Difference Rescue of WNY. A woman who works with the rescue tells 7 Eyewitness News a dedicated Jet Blue employee has made a number of trips for the group, and brings back dogs that are too small or too delicate to fly in the cargo area of the plane. She went on to say that his co-workers who work for the airline love to help out with the puppies when they're on-board.

These dogs will be cared for by the rescue group until they're able to be adopted. The group has rescued more than 500 dogs from the streets of Puerto Rico in the past few years. To learn more about the group, or to donate you can check out their website or Facebook page here.
