GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. (WKBW) — Patricia Paolucci of Grand Island has been waiting 19 days for her prescribed medication.

“You get no answers. Even when I call WellCare, all they can tell you is it’s in transit,” Paolucci said.

Paolucci ordered her prescription on December 14. The medicine shipped out on December 18, and Paolucci was told it would arrive by December 23. But, Its January 2 and Paolucci still has no clue where her medicine is.

“I know eventually, maybe, it will come. Or, I’ll just have to call the doctor and see if I can get another prescription,” she said.

While Paolucci is not suffering without her prescribed medication, she’s fearful that someone out there is.

“There’s probably many other people who have no recourse of what to do. They’re older. They probably didn’t get prescriptions, and theirs might be life threatening,” she said.

USPS said these package delays are the result of staff cuts caused by the pandemic and they advice anyone with a package that's been missing for more than seven days, to file a claim through their website.

“There’s many people besides me that do not have this, and that are not as vocal as I am. So, I’m hoping something gets done.”
