A portrait studio that once operated a location in Western New York has shut down nationwide without warning to customers waiting for family photos.

Charlotte, North Carolina-based Portrait Innovations has closed all of its nearly 100 locations, according to news reports from its hometown.

The company operated a store on Amelia Drive in Orchard Park that previously closed. The Southtowns store had a two-star rating on Google reviews, with comments such as "Total trash, uninspiring photography chain brand," and "I will not be recommending this place to my family nor friends."

Portrait Innovations filed bankruptcy in 2017.

The Better Business Bureau is advising customers awaiting a refund to contact their state attorney general or a lawyer.
