BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A portion of the brick wall outside of a Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority apartment building on Elmwood Avenue fell off Thursday night.

A BMHA official tells 7 Eyewitness News that no one was injured.

According to an official with the BMHA, bricks near the roof of the north side of the Stuyvesant Apartments fell off and landed on a smaller roof. It is believed that water froze, then thawed, which caused the bricks to loosen.

No apartments were damaged, however, an office sustained some water damage.

Buffalo Police say the street area and front entrance of the building are closed off as of Thursday night.

Work is expected to begin Friday morning to secure the area and make sure no loose bricks remain, according to the BMHA.
