LEWISTON, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Men's Porter Cup golf tournament will not happen this summer due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19.
This is the first time the tournament has not gone on since 1959.
“This is a sad day for us” said Dena Armstrong who has been involved with the tournament since 1973. “Unfortunately with all of the uncertainty that is going on in NY state regarding COVID- 19 we really didn’t have much of a choice.”
The tournament is expected to come back in 2021.
Any player who has already registered can get a refund by going to the Porter Cup website.
The Senior Porter Cup is still scheduled for September 2nd through 4th.
