AMHERST, N.Y. (WKBW) — A popular Buffalo area pizza joint has served it's last slice.
The owners of Leonardi's Pizzeria Inc. announced they closed their doors for good on Facebook.
"It is with heavy heart to announce that we have closed our business as of Sunday, December 29, 2019," the Facebook post said. "We realize that this may come as a shock, however, after much consideration, our owners, Hector and Anne have decided after 47 years, it was time to hang up the aprons and retire."
The Facebook post has been shared more than 1,000 times.
The pizza place-- located on Grover Cleveland Highway-- has been serving the Buffalo area since 1972.
