BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The ongoing feud between Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz and Erie County Comptroller Stefan Mychajliw is escalating again, this time over health and safety conditions at the Rath Building.

"I fight for the health and safety of our hard working union employees," Mychajliw tweeted Monday. "The Rath Building isn’t ready to safely bring workers back. No nurses checking temps. Can’t fit 4 in elevator to safely social distance. A remote workforce is right."

Poloncarz responded to those allegations on Twitter this morning.

"This is pure malarkey. If he truly cared about our employees' health he would #WearAMask in the Rath Building and he hasn't repeatedly. Last week we rode up an elevator together and he was maskless. I told him if he didn't wear a mask he wouldn't be allowed in the building again," Poloncarz tweeted.

According to Mychajliw, the Poloncarz Administration sent an email to county workers early Sunday afternoon outlining its policy for returning some employees to work at the Rath Building and other county buildings the following day.
