CLARENCE, N.Y. (WKBW) — Police say a Buffalo woman's BAC was three times the legal limit and that she had three empty wine bottles in her car when she was arrested for DWI after being involved in a hit-and-run crash.

The Erie County Sheriff's Office says 26-year-old Casandra Mentecky left the scene of an accident at Main Street and Goodrich in Clarence the evening of September 5th. Police pulled her car over shortly after on Sheridan Drive. They say when they asked Mentecky for her license, she gave them a receipt. Police also say they smelled alcohol so they administered field sobriety tests, which she failed. She agreed to do a breath test, and police say her BAC was three times the legal limit.

Police also say they found three empty bottles of wine, as well as a cup of what smelled like wine in the cup holder.

Mentecky is facing a number of charges including DWI, aggravated DWI with a BAC of .18 or higher, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, and drinking alcohol in a vehicle on the highway. She was released to a sober third party, and will return to Clarence Town Court.
