Four people hurt, at least two seriously, following crash that shut down part of Rt. 33

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — At least two people were seriously injured following a motor vehicle crash on the inbound lanes of Route 33 near Route 198 Wednesday evening.

The incident occurred around 10 p.m. when a driver appeared to lose control of a vehicle striking a number of concrete walls and barriers.

Four people including the driver, a 19-year-old male were transported to Erie County Medical Center with various injuries, two of which appear to be serious.

The cause of the accident is under investigation and authorities are looking into speed as the potential cause.

The inbound on Rt. 33 is back open after being shut down for two and a half hours.
