Police: Man tried to set Jim's Steakout on fire over food order mishap

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A Buffalo man is behind bars after he tried to start an Allentown restaurant on fire because he was upset over his food order, police say.

Investigators say Kenneth Wilcots, 29, of Buffalo, left Jim's Steakout on Allen Street only to return with a bottle of lighter fluid around 11:20 P.M., Thursday night. According to police, Wilcots then sprayed the lighter fluid on the floor of the restaurant and tried to ignite it.

As Wilcots was being removed from the restaurant by other people at the eatery, he allegedly assaulted them as well.

Wilcots has been charged with assault – 3rd degree, harassment – 2nd degree, criminal mischief – 4th degree and attempted arson – 2nd degree.
