MAYVILLE, N.Y. (WKBW) — State police say a Jamestown man threatened to shoot two dogs in the presence of four children Sunday.

According to police, 62-year-old Douglas Murvine became upset when another camper arrived at the Chautauqua Gorge State Forest with dogs. Murvine pointed a rifle at the dogs and threatened to shoot them, investigators say.

The man put the rifle down, picked up a rock, and threatened to strike the victim with it. Four children were present.

Murvine was arrested and taken to the Chautauqua County Jail. He is charged with two counts of Menacing and four counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
