Police make arrest in Niagara Falls assault and rape

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WKBW) — Niagara Falls Police arrested Eduardo Rodriguez for the assault and rape of a woman in a home near Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center Saturday evening.

The victim told police that she was held hostage and raped then stabbed. Police say she somehow walked herself, bleeding, to the hospital. About ten houses separate the hospital and this house.

Police say Rodriguez checked himself into ECMC Psychiatric Unit to evade police.

Rodriguez was arrested and arraigned Wednesday morning and held without bail under charges of assault and rape.

We initially reported that the assault happened at NFMMC. Police and hospital staff have since clarified that is not the case and that the incident happened the house.
