TOWN OF TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WKBW) — Police in the Town of Tonawanda made a disturbing discovery during a welfare check on Monday evening.
According to investigators, officers were called to 41 Tillotson Place around 9:20 pm. Upon arrival, police say they discovered one person deceased under, "suspicious circumstances." The deceased has now been identified as 59-year-old Mavilie Ruiz.
Her husband, identified by police as 50-year-old Jose Ruiz Jr., is now charged with 1st Degree Manslaughter.
Ruiz is set to be arraigned Tuesday evening in Town of Tonawanda court.

Crews say this investigation is at no danger to the public.
A neighbor tells 7 Eyewitness News this happened around 10 o'clock Monday night.
