Police investigating deadly stabbing in Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WKBW) — Jamestown police say a 23-year-old man is dead after he was stabbed Monday night.

Authorities say 23-year-old Brandon Holland was stabbed in the chest while walking on North Main Street in the area of East 4th and East 5th Streets in Jamestown by 28-year-old Carl Sorenson.

Holland was taken to UPMC Chautauqua where he later died.

Police say Sorenson, who is also on New York State Parole, was taken into custody at his apartment on Washington Street in Jamestown Tuesday afternoon.

Sorenson is being held on murder in the second degree charges and is at the city jail awaiting arraignment. Police say additional charges are pending further investigation.
