BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Buffalo police and Canisius College Public Safety are investigating a gunpoint robbery on the school's campus Friday night.
In an email to students Friday which urged them to exercise caution, public safety said a gunpoint robbery occurred just before 7 p.m. Friday at the Village Complex, that's off Main Street near Humboldt Parkway.
According to the email the robbery victim was familiar with the suspect, a school spokesperson said Saturday this was not a random act.
The suspect is described as a black male, 6'2'' tall with a heavy build and hair worn up in a bun. He was last seen wearing a brown hooded jacket and black jeans.
Public safety says it is reported the suspect was armed with what appeared to be a 9mm handgun and he fled in an unknown direction.
