LANCASTER, N.Y. (WKBW) — A Cheektowaga man is facing charges after threatening to detonate a fake bomb during an attempted robbery Thursday evening, according to police.

Lancaster police report 39-year-old Jeremy Carr approached the pharmacy, located inside the Tops Market on Transit Road in Lancaster, with a fake bomb and detonator and passed along a note demanding narcotics.

According to police, the pharmacist called police and Carr ran away. Carr was captured by officers behind a nearby building after a brief chase on foot.
