BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Buffalo police say an 8-year-old child has died after being hit by a vehicle in the 100 block of Congress Street Monday night.
Police say the incident happened just before 9 p.m. and the child who has now been identified as Livinus Dusabumuremyi died on the way to the hospital.
His parents tell 7 Eyewitness News he was a sweet, intelligent young boy and it was a tragic accident.
Officials say the driver is cooperating and submitted a blood test, they do not believe the driver was speeding and the child ran into the street.
