LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WKBW) — A pediatric dentist from Lockport is facing sex abuse charges involving a minor.
Dr. Louis Surace, 57, is charged with first-degree sexual abuse, second-degree sexual abuse, third-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. According to the Niagara County District Attorney's Office, the abuse took place between 2013 and December 2018 and involved a child who is currently 15 years old.
The investigation began after authorities received a tip from Child Protective Services on January 2nd of this year regarding unwanted sexual contact with a child under the age of 17.
New York State Police say there is no evidence at this time of additional victims.
7 Eyewitness News has learned that the incidents did not take place at the clinic.
