Pedestrian injured after being struck on Walden Avenue, Lancaster police investigating

LANCASTER, N.Y. (WKBW) — Lancaster police are investigating a crash that left a pedestrian with serious injuries. The area of Walden Avenue near Central Avenue was closed for several hours on Friday morning.

According to police, a commercial delivery truck was traveling east bound on Walden Avenue when it struck a 34-year-old man crossing the street around 6:15 a.m.

Police say the man was taken to Erie County Medical Center with serious injuries. The driver of the truck was not injured and is cooperating with investigators.

At this time, impairment and speed do not appear to be factors in the crash. Police are continuing to investigate.
