BATAVIA, N.Y. (WKBW) — Batavia police say a man is dead after he was hit by a car Friday night.
Authorities say East Main Street just east of Summit Street in Batavia, after a man was hit by a car just after 8 p.m.
Police say they found a man laying in the road with serious injuries.
Police, fire, and Mercy medics transported him to United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia where he later died.
A preliminary investigation shows the car was heading east on East Main Street when the pedestrian entered the roadway just east of Summit Street, hitting the pedestrian when he was crossing the road heading north.
According to police, the person's name is being withheld at request of the family, and we should not expect another update until Monday.
