HAMBURG, N.Y. (WKBW) — New York State Police are investigating a deadly crash involving a pedestrian on I-90 west.
The crash happened at about 4:48 a.m. on Monday near Exit 57 in the Hamburg area.
Investigators say 60-year-old Darryl Jones, of Yalaha, Florida, walked from a nearby hotel onto the interstate and was hit by the truck.
The truck driver reportedly told police they thought it might have been a deer, but after reviewing the dashcam footage, they discovered it was a pedestrian and called police.
Jones was located in a nearby ditch. The Erie County Medical Examiner's Office recovered the body for post-mortem examination.
