BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Niagara Falls officials say two men with felony warrants issued by the Pennsylvania State Police were taken into custody following a police pursuit that started in Niagara Falls and ended in Buffalo.

On August 3 officials located a vehicle with Pennsylvania license plates on John B. Daly Boulevard. The driver was identified as 31-year-old Richard Reiss and NFPD attempted a traffic stop but the vehicle fled.

NFPD continued its pursuit until other agencies took over as the vehicle continued into Grand Island.

The vehicle came to a stop on Niagara Street in Buffalo, Reiss and 34-year-old Dewayne Shields were taken into custody without incident by U.S. Border Patrol and turned over to NFPD.

A CBP Air and Marine Operations aircraft assisted in the pursuit.

“This is a great example of the excellent relationship the U.S. Border Patrol has with the state and local law enforcement.” said Eduardo Payan, Chief Patrol Agent for the Buffalo Sector. “We will always work together to protect our country and communities."

PA State Police are expected to extradite both parties involved, according to officials.
