BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — An Orchard Park anesthesiologist and pain management doctor has been sentenced to probation by a judge after fraudulently using the names of his patients to obtain controlled substances.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, 54-year-old Paul Biddle will serve probation for two years after being convicted of identity theft and possession of unlawful hydromorphone HCL.

Prosecutors say Biddle filled more than 30 prescriptions for his own use, using the identities of two of his deceased patients. The prescriptions were filled by a pharmacy in Tampa, Florida, and shipped directly to Biddle’s home or office.

Biddle pleaded guilty to the charges back in January.
