ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Town and Village of Orchard Park has become the latest community to cancel its annual Memorial Day parade due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The event was scheduled to take place on May 25 at 9 a.m.
In place of the parade, town and village officials are asking everyone to take part in the "Ring for Remembrance," which calls on churches and residents of Erie County to ring bells or chimes at 9 a.m. on Memorial Day. A moment of silence to remember the fallen will be observed at 9:10.
