VILLAGE OF LE ROY (WKBW) — One person was killed and two other people were seriously injured in a Sunday morning crashed in the Village of Le Roy.
It happened around 3:30 a.m. on Route 19. Authorities said the 21-year-old driver was travelling northbound when he failed to negotiate a curve near Wolcott Street. He struck a concrete island, went airborne and crashed into a residence.
The front seat passenger, 22-year-old Jamel Love of Thorold, Ontario, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The backseat passenger was transported to Strong and the driver was airlifted to Strong. Both were in critical condition. It took firefighters nearly 45 minutes to extricate all three victims.
No word on whether anyone was in the residence at the time of the accident.
