DUNKIRK, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Dunkirk Police Department announced an Olean woman faces multiple charges after driving over a lawn and onto a sidewalk, seriously injuring a pedestrian and leaving the scene of the accident.
According to police, 19-year-old Kristiana M. Rivera struck and seriously injured a 25-year-old woman on E. 7th Street between Maple and Grant Avenues early Sunday morning.
Police say Rivera drove her car over the lawn and onto a sidewalk striking the 25-year-old victim whose identity has not been released.
The vehicle was located by officers a short distance away and Rivera was taken into custody.
The victim was transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Rivera faces the following charges:
- Vehicular assault
- Operating motor vehicle with .08 of 1 percent B.A.C
- Driving while intoxicated
- Unsafe lane change
- Leaving the scene of personal injury accident
- Criminal mischief
