OLEAN, N.Y. (WKBW) — Police in Olean say a 20-year-old man has been arrested for drawing swastikas and other graffiti on a United States Army building and a public library.
According to police, Ayden B. Hendricks was arrested on Thursday for Criminal Mischief charges related to the damage.
Police say this happened in December 2019.
According to a release, the incident was originally investigated as a hate crime but the actions by the accused do not constitute these charges being upgraded to a hate crime according to the New York State Penal law.
Hendricks was released and is scheduled to appear in Olean City Court at a later date.
