ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WKBW) — SUNY Erie Community College’s South Campus officially unveiled its new 12,320 square foot indoor athletic facility Tuesday.
The Kats Indoor Training Center (KITC) was build using re-purposed turf from the old New Era Field.
The turf was donated by Erie County using the suitable turf the county was unable to sell, and then the SUNY Erie Foundation paid for its installation.
The facility can accommodate a number of teams and organizations including football, baseball, field hockey, softball and lacrosse.
It is climate-controlled and can be used year round by anyone and is available to rent.
September - April (peak-season) rates are $95/hour.
May-August (off-peak) rentals are $65/hour.
