LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WKBW) — A Lockport man has been arrested for the shooting death of a man on Easter Sunday.

According to New York State Police, 28-year-old Davaris Hodge has been charged with murder in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon.

State Police officials say troopers were called to a residence on Cambridge Drive in Lockport around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 12, for a possible shooting.

When troopers arrived, they located the victim, 36-year-old Leon Johnson.

Johnson was found with multiple gunshot wounds. Troopers attempted to provide medical aid, but Johnson died from his injuries.

During the investigation, NYSP officials say Hodge was located at a motel in Rochester. He was arrested and brought back to State Police barracks in Batavia.

Hodge was arraigned in Niagara County and was taken to the Niagara County Jail.
