NY State trooper charged in crash

A NY State trooper has been charged in a crash that injured five people.

State Police say Stephen Barker was driving a marked State Police vehicle on the I-90 near mile marker 462.6 in the town of Sheridan on July 15th. The vehicle rear-ended a Dodge Caravan with five people inside.

Two of the victims were flown to ECMC. Three others also went to the hospital but were not seriously injured.

Barker is charged with Reckless Endangerment and Reckless Driving. He is currently suspended without pay.
