BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The New York State of the State is Wednesday.
The governor's office has been releasing proposals over the past few weeks, so we have a pretty good idea what to expect.
Governor Andrew Cuomo will restart the debate about high speed rail connecting the state's major cities. He wants a team to completely rethink a plan about the massive infrastructure project. Any approval on this legislation wouldn't guarantee high speed rail, it would just get the state to look into its viability.
Single use Styrofoam containers, they may soon be a thing of the past. Cuomo says this will build off of last year's plastic bag ban in efforts to protect the environment. This would also include Styrofoam packing peanuts.
Do you vape? The governor doesn’t plan on completely banning vaping. But, he does plan on eliminating flavored nicotine vaping products. It would also be illegal to buy vaping products online.
These are just some of the governor's 25 plus proposals for this year's State of the State.
On Wednesday, you can watch it on the WKBW app.
