Nurse at Buffalo General Hospital accused of assaulting patient

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A nurse working at Buffalo General Hospital is under arrest, accused of assaulting a patient.

According to the Buffalo Police Department, the incident happened on Wednesday December 12, and 42-year-old Ryan Kinnally was arrested the following day. Kinnally is accused of hitting a patient in the face. There's no word on the patient's potential injuries.

Michael P. Hughes, spokesman for Buffalo General Medical Center issued the following statement, "Because this is a personnel and patient privacy matter, we will not comment on the specifics of the incident. We did report it immediately and have been working cooperatively with the Buffalo Police Department since. The safety of our patients and our employees is our number one priority."

Hughes adds that Kinnally was not an employee, but a contract nurse working at Buffalo General.
