ERIE COUNTY, N.Y. (WKBW) — There will not be a countywide curfew in Erie County Wednesday night, Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz announced Wednesday afternoon.
There was a countywide curfew in place in Erie County Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday nights.
The nightly curfew in the City of Buffalo remains in place through Sunday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. The Town of Cheektowaga will have a curfew in place from 8 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday.
The curfews are in response to violence and vandalism that has occurred in the area following peaceful protests of George Floyd's death.
The curfew does not impact essential workers, if you are an essential worker and need to travel during the curfew hours you are asked to have proof of your employment.
