ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP/WKBW) — Nine protesters were arrested in Rochester as demonstrations over the the death of a Black man who lost consciousness after police held a hood over his head continued for a fourth night.

Police said three officers were treated at hospitals for injuries they suffered when “projectiles and incendiary devices” were hurled at them during Saturday night’s protests over the death of Daniel Prude.

According to 13WHAM, Saturday's protest appeared peaceful until reaching the center city when, just after 10:30 p.m., fireworks were set off from the crowd and pepper balls were shot by police.

The marches took place as New York’s attorney general announced that a grand jury would investigate Prude’s death.

A police internal affairs investigation cleared the officers who were part of the fatal encounter of any wrongdoing.
